Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff is the fan-favorite character of MCU. Scarlett Johansson made her first debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2 as an undercover agent of SHEILD, to keep an eye on Tony Stark and Stark Industry. But later she became the main character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one of the six original Avengers. Ever since Scarlett Johansson made her MCU debut fans eager to see the character’s backstory.
Whereas after Natasha’s heroic sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame to get the Soul Stone from Vormir, the character is still getting her own solo movie, this could be the prequel story. The movie will take place after Captain America: Civil War, where Natasha went against the Sokovia Accords after signing them, and before Avengers: Infinity War, where she returned as a Secret Avenger. The movie gives Marvel Studios a chance to show to Black Widow fans a little-known background of Black Widow’s story, but also introduce other characters who could be involved in future films. Officially confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020.
Whereas more interesting factor is that MCU is going to introduce a new supervillain Taskmaster. The keyframe illustration by Andy Park which is shared on his Twitter account shows Black Widow fighting Taskmaster on a bridge. This is the first official look at Taskmaster. But according to us, Park’s artwork is not a common one instead of it appears that it came to life from one of the clips.
Why is Taskmaster put by MCU in Black Widow movie?
If we take a look in comics to find a direct relationship between these two characters then we will find nothing but if we expand our thinking and take a closer look at there background we will find that both of them have worked as a spy for different agencies. Not only that they have also worked as a freelancer, but both characters were also trained agents of a covert organization and both have changed there side. Black Widow left KGB for SHIELD and Taskmaster left SHIELD for himself.
But how MCU is going to introduce Taskmaster in Black Widow’s background? According to us, there are few possibilities first may be Tony Master was a red room instructor or could be a high-ranking member of the Black Widow program. Second, it is also possible that Taskmaster is in the SHIELD but after he is recruited in HYDRA as a training instructor he worked as a spy for HYDRA. Third another possibility is that Taskmaster is a mercenary and Black Widow is assigned to take him down which brings them face to face battle.
Another possible environment a general theory that maybe the person behind the mask of Taskmaster is not actually the comic character may be a red room associate of Natasha Romanoff who wants to kill or hired to kill by an unknown agency.
Whatever the speculations fans are waiting for a long term for Black Widow solo movie but many of them are also waiting for the next super villain in MCU. Who knows it may be Taskmaster because if MCU follows the comic storyline for Taskmaster then his power of mimic increases the possibility of being one of the most powerful villain in Marvel Universe. And Taskmaster will be a dreadful opponent to Black Widow in 2020.
