Our Analysis and Test Results
Design And Build Quality
The Sony Bravia 43X7400H smart android 4k LED TV has a simple, clean, and excellent design. The appearance of the television will definitely increase your living room look.
The bezels are thin very much like higher-end models. Whereas foot stands are made up of strong and sturdy plastic. They are in a narrower position so that you can place them on the small table.
The back of the TV is a lot like Sony 43X75. The back is fully made up of smooth and solid plastic with the option of a wall mount (though the wall mount is not included in the pack you can ask the installation team to provide it). Other than that two clips are provided in the pack to manage cables by tieing them to the feet.
The thickness of the TV is medium but it will not stick out too much when wall mounted. Overall, the build quality of the Sony 43X7400H is very good. There is nearly no wobble at all and the TV feels well built.
The contrast ratio of Sony Bravia 43X7400H is decent and not very good as expected from an IPS panel. But Sony has managed to keep picture quality at a good point in terms of contrast by using Dynamic Contrast Enhancer technology. So, you will find no issue in picture quality as the difference, in contrast, is not noticeable.
The TV doesn’t have an honorable local dimming feature. Though it has the Motion Flow XR 100 feature still we didn’t find any satisfactory results by keeping it in the highest setting.
SDR & HDR Brightness
Our meter has recorded 320 nits of peak brightness in SDR and 360 nits of peak brightness in HDR. The numbers are good but not the best, the TV is good to use in an average bright room and not in a very bright room as it cannot fight too much glare.
But this is not a very serious issue to think about as we all use to have an average bright room. But according to us in this price and size range, this is one of the best television that delivers decent brightness.
We have tested the Sony Bravia 43X7400H tv screen’s gray uniformity by putting the grey screen at different percentages (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%). But we didn’t find anything wrong with its grey uniformity.
And the good news is that the TV screen doesn’t show much dirty screen effect. So, the sports will look great and you don’t have to compromise with picture quality.
The Sony 43X7400H television comes with great viewing angles as IPS panels are popularly known to provide great picture quality at different viewing angles.
From the front side, you will get fantastic color due to the best color optimization and on the extreme side, there is a very minor difference in color and brightness that you will not feel too much.
The TV can handle a good amount of reflection. The TV holds a semi-gloss screen finish and can diffuse indirect reflection or ambient light very well but the reflection from a directly opposite light source may affect a little.
Color Gamut And Color Volume
The TV has a decent color gamut and a good amount of color volume. It can display a good amount of colors to make a colorful scene vibrant and bright.
Quality of Different Video Formats
Sony TV uses X Reality Pro technology to upscale different video formats. Now let’s see how this TV can upscale and the quality of upscale.
We have tested SD channels which are played from an HD set-top box. SD channels consist of 480p content and this tv has upscaled pretty well. There are minor flaws present but 4K TV cannot do the best upscaling of 480p content.
Now let’s check HD video content, the tv has upscaled 720p and 1080p (Blu-ray or game console) video content very efficiently without any flaws. Also, the 4K video was displayed without any problem.
According to us, these are the best upscaling of television that you will rarely find in any budget range TVs.
And at last, this Sony Bravia 43X7400H smart Android 4K led TV is free from temporary image retention and permanent burn-in-risk. As IPS panel always appears to be immune against permanent burn-in-risk.
Motion: Response time And Refresh rate
The Sony Bravia 43X7400H smart TV has a decent response time of 15.3 ms. The response time is pretty good to watch sports and play video games.
The Sony TV has a native refresh rate of 50Hz which is enough for maximum use but it doesn’t have a variable refresh rate so it cannot improve game performance.

Sony 43X7400H is the best to buy for those who are mainly looking for a television for regular use like watching TV shows, and movies. For everyday family use, it is best.

Sony 43X7400H 4K TV Comparision With Other Models
The Sony 43X7400H is one of the best-led TVs at this price and size range. The best alternative that we recommend for the model Sony X74 is Sony X75.
The Sony X7400H has a great peak brightness though you can use this TV as a PC monitor and for playing video games, whereas we don’t recommend PC use on this television.
If you are looking for a versatile 4K Smart LED TV that is best for regular home use and also delivers a great PC and gaming experience then Samsung UA43AU9070ULXL is the best 43 inches smart TV for your need.
The Sony 43X7500H is an excellent 4K smart TV and twin brother of the Sony X74. The Sony X7500 has a good contrast ratio, a great viewing angle due to the IPS panel, and a faster response time.
There is nearly no difference between X74 and X75 except for two points. You can check the price here.
- Sony 43X74 has Motion Flow XR100 and Sony 43X7500 has Motion Flow XR200.
- The price of the Sony 43X74 is much less than Sony 43X7500.
Our Suggestion: We are not very impressed by Sony’s Motion flow XR technology. In our testing, we didn’t find much difference in using Motion flow XR when we put it off, and on results are nearly the same.
So, if Sony 43X7500 higher price is due to the presence of Motion flow XR 200 then it is totally nonsense to pay.
So, if you have to choose between Sony 43X7400H and Sony 43X7500H my recommendation will always Sony 43X7400H smart Android 4K LED TV.
Samsung Crystal 4K Pro
The Samsung Crytal 4K Pro TV has an outstanding picture quality with a great contrast ratio, the is based on VA panels so it can deliver deepest blacks compared to IPS panels.
It has a wide color gamut and holds a good color range which means you will get an impressive and vibrant color Picture quality.
The sound quality is sub-par not so very good but we like the build quality strong, sturdy, and has an attractive look. You can check the price here.
- We mainly found differences in sound quality Sony 43X7400H has an excellent sound output and you will not require an external speaker. Whereas Samsung TV doesn’t have a great sound quality and you will need an external sound system.
- Samsung has fewer HDMI and USB ports compared to Sony 43X7400H smart TV.
- In the price segment, Samsung Crystal 4K Pro beats Sont X7400. As Samsung is much cheaper than Sony TV.
Our Suggestion: Sony and Samsung are two unbeatable brands and there is no doubt. So, brand preference can be a major point, if you like Samsung more than Sony Then you can go with it.
Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TV’s outstanding picture quality and low price are the two big reasons to buy whereas there are fewer ports and ok sound quality.
On the other hand, Sony has mastered X7400H to deliver excellent colorful pictures with great sound quality. But you have to pay more than Samsung TV but we think it is totally worth paying that price.
So, if you are looking for the best and cheaper 43-inch 4K TV then Samsung 4k Pro is good to go but you have to compromise with some specs and quality. Otherwise, if you can pay then definitely choose Sony Bravia 43X7400H.
