MCU: End of Tony Stark as Iron Man but is it the end of Iron Man?

“Avengers: Endgame” is the biggest earner ever at the box office nearly pulled $2.782 billion worldwide, and the most expensive movie to date in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is actually kind of curious because despite also being the longest MCU film it really has appreciably less action than the three other “Avengers” films.
The biggest MCU fans attraction that pulled them to watch the movie is the end of the hero who has who launched the entire franchise, his death puts a bookend on the first 11 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Iron Man is the most famous and Tony Stark is the most attractive personality for fans of MCU. Fans will never forget the moment, that fascinating dialogue when Tony Stark explains to Captain America in “The Avengers” 2012 that who is Tony Stark “…genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.” but we surely gonna miss this in future MCU movies. This is the thing that gave a kick start to the Avenger initiative. Tony Stark was the man who had developed significantly in the entire MCU Phases ( Phase 1 to Phase 3 ) and not only that he has pulled up to each and every Avengers with his inventions. It is Tony Stark’s Hulk Buster who can only control an angry Hulk, he has provided our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man with hi-tech suite and guidance to become one of the most powerful Avenger and a responsible superhero.

In Avengers: Endgame the few remaining superhero’s find out a way to bring back what they have lost in Infinity War, mainly Ant-Man came up with the idea first. But without Iron Man, it was impossible for them to bring it in reality. And at last Iron Man perished during the course of Endgame, with Tony Stark meeting his demise when he channeled the power of the Infinity Stones to turn Thanos and his army to dust.

Whereas this is a hard truth that Tony Stark is now history in MCU. Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo previously said that Tony Stark’s fate in the movie was “destiny,”. Tony Stark was a futurist, he knows that there is great danger going to grasp the entire humanity, Thanos. He cannot rest until he defeats Thanos, at last, he completed the job, bringing into existence the one successful future that Doctor Strange glimpsed in Avengers: Infinity War.

But is it the End of Iron Man also?

Back in 2008 Iron Man, Tony committed before the world that he is Iron Man not only that in Iron Man 2(2010) he confirmed that suite is nothing but himself. So, that means if Tony Stark is dead then Iron Man is also dead.

But there are some variations from MCU Phase 2. Phase 2 was started with Iron Man 3 where Tony introduced with first future expected Iron Man’s alternative Harley Keener a child who helped Tony Stark and also an evolving scientist and at the end of the movie Tony installed some of his personal advanced stuff in the child’s garage. At the end of Avenger: Endgame Harley attended the funeral of Tony Stark. What sense does it make somehow the child is connected to Tony Stark personally and also he is not excluded from MCU.

Another fact which shows Iron Man lives is an A.I. creation of Tony Stark by Tony at the end of Avenger: Endgame. Maybe he going to help future Avengers in that way or work as a mentor for a future Iron Man.

In Spider-Man Homecoming Tony helped peter parker with an advanced spidy suite not only that worked as his mentor to become an Avenger. This may be another indication of future Iron Man is in the hand of a friendly neighborhood guy. It can be James Rhodes who has already adapted himself in Tony Stark another upgraded suite as War Machine. Will Rhodes carry on the Iron Man’s heritage. There are many ways and many possibilities to get back Iron Man in the MCU timeline.

If Robert Downey, Jr. gets his way and he has pretty high authority on the matter, being Stark himself – his successor will be Riri Williams, better known as Ironheart.

While there’s always technically the possibility that Robert Downey Jr. could return to the MCU years down the line somehow, Avengers: Endgame gave a fitting and emotionally resonant conclusion to Tony Stark’s journey. We’ll be revisiting Black Widow’s life next year, but Iron Man will not be gracing the big screen again anytime soon, if at all.
