How To Monitor Network Traffic On TP-Link Router

Follow the steps below. For that, we take Archer MR200 as a demonstration.

1. Please log into the web-based management interface of TP-Link Router. 

2. Head towards Advanced > Network > Data Settings page. Enable Data Limit and usage alert to prevent data overuse.

3. Put the amount allowed for total/monthly data in the data limit Allowance field. When data usage breaks the allowed level, the router will disconnect and a notification will be sent to you on the Basic > Network Map Page.

4. Enter a limit in the Usage Alert field to prohibit data overuse. 

5. Activate Data Statistics to configure data statistics when the next billing cycle starts.

6. Put the first date of the billing cycle in the Start Date field.

7. Save the settings.

How To Monitor Network Traffic On Router Netgear

Using The Web Interface

• Power up Netgear router and connect a computer.
• After that launch a web browser on the system, put Netgear router’s login URL and press Enter.
• After the router login page opens up, type the username and password required to log in the router’s configuration page.
• Router’s configuration page will open. Press the Advanced tab.
• Choose the Traffic Meter option, and then enable Traffic Meter.
• To control the Internet traffic of the router, press the radio button of the Traffic Volume Control menu.
• Choose one of the control options – No Limit, Download only, and Both Directions.
• If you want to control the network or connection time, choose Connection time control and put a number of hours that you want to allow connection beside the Monthly limit field.
• In the Traffic counter, if you want the counter to start now, then select the Restart Counter Now button.
• Enable Traffic Control indicator light to glow in case traffic limit exceeds.
• Refresh to check the Traffic Status to view the network traffic volume.
