Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 Review And Specification: The Cosmic Byte GK-03 gaming keyboard may not be the best one around. That’s not to say it’s a bad thing though. The product’s design is pretty decent, despite the lack of any external keys. It’s also loaded with features that can make up for its lacking design prowess.
In this article Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 Review And Specification, the keyboard model is reviewed and researched by our team, we give priority to keyboard features, specifications, price, and customer reviews.
But we strongly recommend you to check the details about price, return policy, warranty, service, and installation before buying. Because they change according to brands and according to time.
For starters, it has an unusual double-sided light bar. It’s positioned on the right side of the keyboard and is used for several functions. The light glows red when pressed and green when released.
Surprisingly, the light does change color based on your actions. This means that you can tell by looking at where your cursor is in the game. Very cool!
Two light pads are used to control the volume. One pad controls the left and right channels, while the other is used for the center channel.
These are useful for controlling what sound will be produced and the pitch modulation. Not very useful for very serious gamers but functional.
Apart from that, the rest of the keys feel good. They’re all very responsive and provide strong tactile and audible feedback. In terms of action, they work very well.
Pressing a key makes a sound, as I’ve experienced it myself. The only thing I would like to call out here is that sometimes, hitting the Caps lock key during gameplay can become very frustrating, as it moves the cursor significantly lower than what I’d want.
But that’s not what the Cosmic Byte GK-03 gaming keyboard was designed for. It’s more than sufficient for random gamers, who need a good keyboard for casual games and not so much for hardcore ones.
And since it’s cheap, you can even equip it with a macro capability for even more added action.
For gaming, you can rely on the above-mentioned features. It’s not too loud and not too soft, so you won’t be disturbing your roommates with its continuous blaring sound.
For quick keystrokes, it has just the right amount of keys and you won’t get tired easily. You can also use the extra macro keys for additional action during gameplay.
Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 Review And Specification
The Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 gaming keyboard meets all these requirements. It comes with nice pink rubber feet, which are large enough to provide good traction. This keyboard has a total of 15 extra keys, which are all designed in a unique style. What’s more, this particular model also has a total of 6-macro keys, which are specifically designed to perform multiple functions at once.
The build quality is outstanding. It has a plastic base with an aluminum plate on top. It feels hard and doesn’t present any flex. The keycaps are ABS and feel a bit common, but there’s very concise wobbling or rattling. The rubber pads aren’t the grippiest, although we didn’t experience any problems with the keyboard sliding around. The incline feet are sturdy and shouldn’t fall when accelerating the keyboard forward.

There are only some extra features on this keyboard. Nearly all keys are macro-programmable, and also there Windows Lock key is available to prevent accidentally minimizing your game. There dedicated media controls keys available.
Another feature of this keyboard that makes it good is its mechanical structure. For such type of keyboard to give a solid and comfortable feeling, they need to have good mechanical construction.
What do I mean? Simply, the act of pressing keys during gameplay requires lots of force on your hands, so it pays to have a keyboard that is built with an outer layer made from rubber, or more commonly, plastic.
However, despite the nice appearance of this keyboard, it does have some negative points as well. Let’s talk about it first. The most noticeable thing is the extremely loud sound produced by the cheap Cherry MX key switch.
The sound itself can be highly annoying especially when you are in a public location and someone close to you hits you with the loud sound. It may even be distracting to other people, which is unfortunate.
Another bad thing about the Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 gaming keyboard is the lack of macro keys. Although it comes with macro keys, they are a bit too difficult to use and are not good enough for general use.
They require you to press the key before it appears. I guess they have to come up with a good design first.
What makes the Cosmic Byte CB-GK-03 gaming keyboard a good buy is its bright backlit keys. These are made using a Light Emitting Diode (LED) backlight instead of the regular mechanical switches.
This is a good thing because it means that the keys are illuminated, which means easier to see and type on.
Aside from that, the light emitted from the LED is also very bright, so you won’t have to worry if you are typing in dark places.
Lastly, this keyboard has two levels of extra keys for you to instantly access-game controls. I do not know why they made these, but it helped me in my quest to become a gaming expert. I just hope that this keyboard can last me a year or two more because of the cheap price it is.
